What format you get: MP4, with the sound included

Updated 2026-10-02

Format questions have a short answer and a long answer. The short one: you get MP4 files that already contain the sound. The long one concerns a specific case where Facebook stores video in two pieces — worth knowing before you go looking for it.

The short answer

Every file the tool offers is a single, complete MP4: picture and sound together, exactly as the source publishes it. The audio column says included on all of them.

Nothing is re-encoded and no audio is stripped. The bytes are the same ones the video player on Facebook used.

The exception worth understanding

Facebook sometimes publishes a higher resolution in two separate pieces: one file for the picture, another for the sound. That is how streaming services store video, and it is the shape Facebook uses for some HD renditions.

Joining those two streams into one file is not something this tool does. It is a deliberate omission rather than an oversight: doing it badly produces files that play everywhere except where you need them.

When this happens the page says so in plain words and lists the complete files that are available, so you are never handed a silent video by mistake.

How to tell what you are getting

Each result row carries four facts: the resolution, the format, whether audio is included, and the real file size. Read the audio column first — that single column answers most of the questions people have about download tools.

If audio says silent, that file has no sound and the page will normally also explain why. If it says included, you are getting a finished video.

Can I convert to MP3 or another format?

Not here. This tool hands over the MP4 and stops there — it does not extract audio or transcode to a different container.

If you need an MP3, download the MP4 and convert it with a tool of your choice afterwards. The MP4 is a normal file that any converter will read.

Frequently asked questions

What format are the downloads?

MP4, as published by the source, with audio included in the same file.

Why can't I get the highest HD version?

Sometimes that rendition exists only as separate picture and sound streams. Saving those as one file is out of scope here, and the page states that rather than offering something that would not play properly.

Can I get an MP3?

No. There is no audio-only output. Convert the MP4 yourself if you need one.
